Darkmoss 採用中性色調的深色背景（#171e1f），預設前景色為 #c7c7a5。正文的 WCAG 對比度為 9.78:1（AAA），12 種 ANSI 彩色槽位平均對比度 6.94:1，最低 3.85:1。

色板整體色彩飽和度適中，其中紅色為 #ff4658、綠色為 #499180、藍色為 #498091、洋紅為 #9bc0c8。
